Mat & Dave Fixing my fence Thanks so much to Mat and Dave for fixing my fence.  It took much longer than anticipated.  They did a great job and really made me laugh as well.

It’s really nice to know that I don’t always have to do everything myself and that it’s important to allow people to help me!

Very, very grateful and highly amused that we have had a fence panel shortage in this country for months now.  A reminder of how much we take for granted – and how much we just shouldn’t do that!

Blood, Sweat and Tears and Triumph Over Procrastination

Tuesday, 25 September, 2007

Maria's blindI successfully used a drill today!!! I put up Maria’s blind after 1 whole year of procrastination.  What an achievement for me – it sounds ridiculous but this is a task I found very daunting particularly as i hate using the drill.  But I’ve done it now and what a relief it is – to both of us.

Why Procrastinate?

I his book Do it Now: How to Stop Procrastinating,William Knaus talks about two reasons for procrastination:

1) Self Doubters (often perfectionists)

2) Discomfort Dodgers (this was me on this occassion)

It’s good for me to stay in touch with my procrastination so that I can better help my clients.

What’s next on my list of energy sappers?  My bedroom ceiling needs painting and oh, that old cookie – THE GARDEN!!!!

Listening to Your Inner Voice

Saturday, 22 September, 2007

“To make emotionally intelligent choices, it’s important to make sure that it really is your steady, calm inner voice that you’re in touch with.  If you’re relaxed when you hear it and it gives you the same message over time, chances are good that it’s your inner voice……Emotional intelligence is the opposite of emotional chaos; it’s emotional clarit, when your head and heart are aligned in peaceful knowing and you are in full agreement with yourself.  This is the strong, tranquil message of your inner voice. ”

Couldn’t have put it better myself!

I love the font Comic Sans, its friendly and I’ve had an unusual amount of pleasure from it over the years. I’ve used it a lot and was surprised and a bit miffed when I discovered a strange website this morning: ban comic sans. It’s amusing and a little sad. …. but as always a silver linning – this site has given me an idea for the structure of a site that I want to have soon. x

Free and Excellent HTML Tutorials

Friday, 14 September, 2007

What a wonderful learning resource.  This site W3 Schools teaches you HTML, CSS, Browser Scripting and more.  Its all free, you just pay for certification.  Amazing!

I taught myself Dreamweaver to build my site, Be Clutter Free a couple of years ago but knowing a little bit about html has helped me to understand more.  There are some things you can’t do in Dreamwever without knowing a little bit of code, like numbered lists or bulleted lists.

Wow!  What a fantastic resource.
